| Description | Cassialactone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzoxepines. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to an oxepine ring (an unsaturated seven-membered heterocycle with one oxygen atom replacing a carbon atom). 4,10,11-trihydroxy-8-methoxy-4-methyl-3h,5h-naphtho[2,3-c]oxepin-1-one is found in Senna obtusifolia. Cassialactone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
