Description5,2',5'-Trihydroxy-7,8-dimethoxyflavanone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 8-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C8 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, 5,2',5'-trihydroxy-7,8-dimethoxyflavanone is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. 2-(2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Scutellaria indica. 5,2',5'-Trihydroxy-7,8-dimethoxyflavanone is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
