DescriptionMaesol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as methoxyphenols. Methoxyphenols are compounds containing a methoxy group attached to the benzene ring of a phenol moiety. 5-[12-(3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-4-methylphenyl)dodecyl]-3-methoxy-2-methylphenol is found in Maesa montana and Melia azedarach. Maesol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
