| Description | Cystodytin G belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrido[2,3,4-kl]acridones. Pyrido[2,3,4-kl]acridones are compounds containing a pyrido[2,3,4-kl]acridine carrying a C=O group. Cystodytin G is a secondary metabolite. Secondary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically non-essential metabolites that may serve a role as defense or signalling molecules. In some cases they are simply molecules that arise from the incomplete metabolism of other secondary metabolites. (2e)-n-(2-methoxy-2-{12-oxo-8,14-diazatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]heptadeca-1(17),2(7),3,5,8,10,13,15-octaen-10-yl}ethyl)-2-methylbut-2-enimidic acid is found in Cystodytes dellechiajei. (2e)-n-(2-methoxy-2-{12-oxo-8,14-diazatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]heptadeca-1(17),2(7),3,5,8,10,13,15-octaen-10-yl}ethyl)-2-methylbut-2-enimidic acid was first documented in 2021 (PMID: 33897801). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on cystodytin G. |
