Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. 4',6,6-trimethyl-8,9-dihydro-7h-spiro[naphtho[1,2-c]furan-3,2'-oxolan]-1-one is found in Salvia miltiorrhiza. 4',6,6-Trimethyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-1H-spiro[naphtho[1,2-c]furan-3,2'-oxolane]-1-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
