Description(2R,3R,4R,5S)-2-{[(1R,2R,3S)-7-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-methoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl]methoxy}-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as lignan glycosides. These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing a carbohydrate component glycosidically linked to a lignan moiety. They include 1-aryltetralin lactones. (2r,3r,4r,5s)-2-{[(1r,2r,3s)-7-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-methoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl]methoxy}-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol is found in Pinus massoniana. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2R,3R,4R,5S)-2-{[(1R,2R,3S)-7-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-6-methoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl]methoxy}-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol.
