Description3-[2-(4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl]propyl 3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids. These are phenylpropanoids containing the 2-phenylbenzofuran moiety. 3-[2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl]propyl 3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Hibiscus cannabinus. 3-[2-(4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl]propyl 3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
