| Description | (2Xi,6xi)-7-Methyl-3-methylene-1,2,6,7-octanetetrol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty alcohols. These are aliphatic alcohols consisting of a chain of a least six carbon atoms. Thus, (2XI,6XI)-7-methyl-3-methylene-1,2,6,7-octanetetrol is considered to be a fatty alcohol lipid molecule (2xi,6xi)-7-Methyl-3-methylene-1,2,6,7-octanetetrol is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. Outside of the human body, (2xi,6xi)-7-Methyl-3-methylene-1,2,6,7-octanetetrol has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. 7-methyl-3-methylideneoctane-1,2,6,7-tetrol is found in Glehnia littoralis. This could make (2XI,6XI)-7-methyl-3-methylene-1,2,6,7-octanetetrol a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
