DescriptionNiranthin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as dibenzylbutane lignans. These are lignan compounds containing a 2,3-dibenzylbutane moiety. 6-{3-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-4-methoxy-2-(methoxymethyl)butyl}-4-methoxy-2h-1,3-benzodioxole is found in Phyllanthus amarus, Phyllanthus urinaria and Scoparia dulcis. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Niranthin.
