| Description | 5-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2,6-dimethyl-2,3,4,7-tetrahydro-1H-indene-4,7-dione belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ketones. These are organic compounds in which a carbonyl group is bonded to two carbon atoms R2C=O (neither R may be a hydrogen atom). Ketones that have one or more alpha-hydrogen atoms undergo keto-enol tautomerization, the tautomer being an enol. 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2,6-dimethyl-1,3-dihydroindene-4,7-dione is found in Russula delica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2,6-dimethyl-2,3,4,7-tetrahydro-1H-indene-4,7-dione. |
