| Description | Ligustrosidic acid, also known as ligustrosidate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. [(3e)-4-{2-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2,4-dihydropyran-3-ylidene]acetic acid is found in Ligustrum japonicum. [(3e)-4-{2-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-oxoethyl}-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2,4-dihydropyran-3-ylidene]acetic acid was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 21598330). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Ligustrosidic acid (PMID: 34214834) (PMID: 35636178). |
