| Description | Vitexin-2''-O-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-8-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C8-position. 8-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one is found in Gnetum buchholzianum, Passiflora palmeri, Podocarpus nivalis and Silene latifolia. 8-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 29403712). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Vitexin-2''-O-glucoside (PMID: 29454287). |
