DescriptionMallopallidol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkyl-phenylketones. These are aromatic compounds containing a ketone substituted by one alkyl group, and a phenyl group. 8-{[2,4-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-5-methyl-3-(2-methylpropanoyl)phenyl]methyl}-5,7-dihydroxy-2,2,6-trimethyl-3h-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Mallotus pallidus. Mallopallidol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
