DescriptionEnt-8(14),15-Pimaradiene belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpenoids. These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. Ent-8(14),15-Pimaradiene is possibly neutral. Outside of the human body, ent-8(14),15-Pimaradiene has been detected, but not quantified in, fruits. 7-ethenyl-1,1,4a,7-tetramethyl-3,4,4b,5,6,9,10,10a-octahydro-2h-phenanthrene is found in Aldama arenaria, Cryptomeria japonica, Cupressus sempervirens, Diaporthe amygdali, Halocarpus biformis, Juniperus brevifolia, Kaempferia marginata, Manoao colensoi, Pilocarpus jaborandi, Pinus nigra, Pinus sylvestris, Pleospora bjoerlingii, Prumnopitys andina, Salvia mellifera, Salvia parryi, Sideritis discolor, Viguiera arenaria and Xylia xylocarpa. This could make ent-8(14),15-pimaradiene a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
