DescriptionPhloraspidinol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diphenylmethanes. Diphenylmethanes are compounds containing a diphenylmethane moiety, which consists of a methane wherein two hydrogen atoms are replaced by two phenyl groups. 1-{3-[(3-butanoyl-2,4-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-5-methylphenyl)methyl]-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl}butan-1-one is found in Dryopteris campyloptera and Dryopteris hawaiiensis. Phloraspidinol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
