DescriptionTacamonidine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tacaman alkaloids. These are alkaloids containing the pentacyclic tacaman skeleton, which consists of a pyrido[1,2-a]indole fused to a quinolizine. Tacaman alkaloids are obtained from a precursor to a pseudoaspidospermidine (type II skeleton) derivative, by the formation of new bonds at C-20/C-3 and C-140/C-17. (13s,15r,19r)-13-ethyl-13-hydroxy-1,11-diazapentacyclo[9.6.2.0²,⁷.0⁸,¹⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁹]nonadeca-2,4,6,8(18)-tetraen-17-one is found in Tabernaemontana corymbosa. (13s,15r,19r)-13-ethyl-13-hydroxy-1,11-diazapentacyclo[9.6.2.0²,⁷.0⁸,¹⁸.0¹⁵,¹⁹]nonadeca-2,4,6,8(18)-tetraen-17-one was first documented in 2015 (PMID: 25919190). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Tacamonidine.
