Description(R)-trichostatic acid, also known as (R)-trichostatate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkyl-phenylketones. These are aromatic compounds containing a ketone substituted by one alkyl group, and a phenyl group. (+)-trichostatic acid was first documented in 1990 (PMID: 2211374). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (R)-trichostatic acid.
