Common Name5-[(1r,3ar,4r,6ar)-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-hexahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2h-1,3-benzodioxole
DescriptionDemethoxyaschantin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furanoid lignans. These are lignans with a structure that contains either a tetrahydrofuran ring, a furan ring, or a furofuan ring system, that arises from the joining of the two phenylpropanoid units. 5-[(1r,3ar,4r,6ar)-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-hexahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2h-1,3-benzodioxole is found in Magnolia biondii. 5-[(1r,3ar,4r,6ar)-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-hexahydrofuro[3,4-c]furan-1-yl]-2h-1,3-benzodioxole was first documented in 2007 (PMID: 17628872). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Demethoxyaschantin (PMID: 26833996) (PMID: 18673228).
