DescriptionPolyporusterone D belongs to the class of organic compounds known as androgens and derivatives. These are 3-hydroxylated C19 steroid hormones. They are known to favor the development of masculine characteristics. They also show profound effects on scalp and body hair in humans. (1r,3as,5ar,7r,8s,9ar,9br,11ar)-3a,7,8-trihydroxy-1-[(3r,5s)-3-hydroxy-5,6-dimethylhept-1-en-2-yl]-9a,11a-dimethyl-1h,2h,3h,5ah,6h,7h,8h,9h,9bh,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-5-one is found in Polyporus umbellatus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Polyporusterone D.
