| Description | (1S,2S,4S)-1,8-Epoxy-p-menthane-2,7-diol 2-O-b-D-glucoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as o-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond (1S,2S,4S)-1,8-Epoxy-p-menthane-2,7-diol 2-O-b-D-glucoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, (1S,2S,4S)-1,8-Epoxy-p-menthane-2,7-diol 2-O-b-D-glucoside has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. 2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-{[1-(hydroxymethyl)-3,3-dimethyl-2-oxabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-6-yl]oxy}oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Foeniculum vulgare. This could make (1S,2S,4S)-1,8-epoxy-p-menthane-2,7-diol 2-O-b-D-glucoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
