These are lactones, which is structurally characterized by a benzene ring and a pyranone moiety, linked to each other to form a 4-methoxy-6-(2-phenylethyl)-2H-pyran-2-one skeleton. 4-methoxy-6-[2-(4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)ethenyl]pyran-2-one is found in Anaphalis sinica. 4-Methoxy-6-[2-(4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}phenyl)ethenyl]-2H-pyran-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
