| Description | 4Alpha-Methyl-5alpha-ergost-22-en-3beta-ol, also known as 4α-methyl-5α-ergost-22-en-3β-ol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ergosterols and derivatives. These are steroids containing ergosta-5,7,22-trien-3beta-ol or a derivative thereof, which is based on the 3beta-hydroxylated ergostane skeleton. (1r,3as,3bs,5as,6s,7s,9ar,9bs,11ar)-1-[(2r,3e,5r)-5,6-dimethylhept-3-en-2-yl]-6,9a,11a-trimethyl-tetradecahydro-1h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-7-ol is found in Gorgonia mariae, Phallusia nigra, Plexaura homomalla, Pyrocystis lunula and Scrippsiella trochoidea. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4alpha-Methyl-5alpha-ergost-22-en-3beta-ol. |
