Description3-Hydroxy spirost-8-en-11-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 11-oxosteroids. These are steroid derivatives carrying a C=O group at the 11-position of the steroid skeleton. (2r,2'r,4's,7's,8'r,9's,13's)-16'-hydroxy-5,7',9',13'-tetramethyl-5'-oxaspiro[oxane-2,6'-pentacyclo[10.8.0.0²,⁹.0⁴,⁸.0¹³,¹⁸]icosan]-1'(12')-en-11'-one is found in Typha angustifolia. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-hydroxy spirost-8-en-11-one.
