DescriptionAylthonic acid, also known as aylthonate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cyclic alcohols and derivatives. These are organic compounds containing an aliphatic ring substituted with at least one hydroxyl group. [(1s,2r,4s,4ar,8ar)-4-hydroxy-1,2,4a,5-tetramethyl-2,3,4,7,8,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-1-yl]acetic acid is found in Dicranopteris linearis. [(1s,2r,4s,4ar,8ar)-4-hydroxy-1,2,4a,5-tetramethyl-2,3,4,7,8,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-1-yl]acetic acid was first documented in 2007 (PMID: 17315963). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on aylthonic acid.
