Description3-(2,3-Dihydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-4,8-dimethoxy-1-methyl-1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydroquinolones. Hydroquinolones are compounds containing a hydrogenated quinoline bearing a ketone group. 3-(2,3-dihydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-4,8-dimethoxy-1-methylquinolin-2-one is found in Balfourodendron riedelianum and Lunasia amara. 3-(2,3-Dihydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-4,8-dimethoxy-1-methyl-1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
