Naphthopyrans are compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 6 membered-ring non-aromatic ring with five carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. 9-(furan-3-yl)-15-(1-hydroxy-2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)-10,14,16,16-tetramethyl-7-oxo-3,8-dioxapentacyclo[12.3.1.0²,⁴.0⁴,¹³.0⁵,¹⁰]octadecan-17-yl 2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Swietenia macrophylla.
