| Description | Desglucouzarin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cardenolide glycosides and derivatives. Cardenolide glycosides and derivatives are compounds containing a carbohydrate glycosidically bound to the cardenolide moiety. 4-[(1r,3as,3br,5as,7s,9as,9bs,11ar)-3a-hydroxy-9a,11a-dimethyl-7-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-tetradecahydrocyclopenta[a]phenanthren-1-yl]-5h-furan-2-one is found in Asclepias asperula, Asclepias curassavica, Asclepias linaria, Asclepias subulata, Calotropis procera and Coronilla scorpioides. 4-[(1r,3as,3br,5as,7s,9as,9bs,11ar)-3a-hydroxy-9a,11a-dimethyl-7-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-tetradecahydrocyclopenta[a]phenanthren-1-yl]-5h-furan-2-one was first documented in 2009 (PMID: 19251412). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Desglucouzarin (PMID: 20460804) (PMID: 27545974) (PMID: 26068432). |
