| Description | (1S,2R,4R,5R,6R,8R,10S,11S,12R,14R,15R,16S,19S,21R)-4,21-bis(acetyloxy)-6-(furan-3-yl)-12,19-dihydroxy-5,11,15-trimethyl-3-oxo-9,17-dioxahexacyclo[13.3.3.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰.0⁸,¹⁰]Henicosan-16-yl (2R)-2-methylbutanoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as limonoids. These are highly oxygenated, modified terpenoids with a prototypical structure either containing or derived from a precursor with a 4,4,8-trimethyl-17-furanylsteroid skeleton. All naturally occurring citrus limonoids contain a furan ring attached to the D-ring, at C-17, as well as oxygen containing functional groups at C-3, C-4, C-7, C-16 and C-17.
