DescriptionDihydroisorhamnetin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 3'-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C3' atom of the flavonoid backbone. Dihydroisorhamnetin is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Dihydroisorhamnetin has been detected, but not quantified in, beverages and fruits. 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Anastatica hierochuntica, Larrea tridentata, Thanatephorus cucumeris and Urospermum dalechampii. This could make dihydroisorhamnetin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
