These are carboxylic acid derivatives containing a halogen atom bonded to the alpha carbon atom. hexadecan-4-yl 2,2,2-trifluoroacetate is found in Streptomyces sparsus. hexadecan-4-yl 2,2,2-trifluoroacetate was first documented in 2017 (PMID: 28669076). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-Trifluoroacetoxyhexadecane (PMID: 29998033).
