These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. 12-(2,5-dihydroxy-3-methylphenyl)-6,10-dimethyl-2-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)dodeca-2,6,10-trienoic acid is found in Roldana barba-johannis, Sargassum fallax, Sargassum micracanthum and Sargassum sagamianum. 12-(2,5-Dihydroxy-3-methylphenyl)-6,10-dimethyl-2-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)dodeca-2,6,10-trienoic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
