Description[(2E,6E)-1-Oxo-8-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]beta-D-glucopyranoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl (2e,6e)-8-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylocta-2,6-dienoate is found in Penstemon virens. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on [(2E,6E)-1-Oxo-8-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl]beta-D-glucopyranoside.
