Description[3,5-Dihydroxy-4,6-bis(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)oxan-2-yl]methyl 7,8,9-trihydroxy-3,5-dioxo-1H,2H,3H,5H-cyclopenta[c]isochromene-1-carboxylate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as oligosaccharide sulfates. These are carbohydrates containing between 3 and 9 sugar units, one of which bear one or more sulfate groups. [3,5-dihydroxy-4,6-bis(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)oxan-2-yl]methyl 7,8,9-trihydroxy-3,5-dioxo-1h,2h-cyclopenta[c]isochromene-1-carboxylate is found in Balanophora japonica. [3,5-Dihydroxy-4,6-bis(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)oxan-2-yl]methyl 7,8,9-trihydroxy-3,5-dioxo-1H,2H,3H,5H-cyclopenta[c]isochromene-1-carboxylate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
