| Description | 2,3-Dihydro-6-hydroxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5,7-dimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one, also known as 6-hydroxy-4',5,7-trimethoxyflavanone, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. 2,3-Dihydro-6-hydroxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5,7-dimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). 6-hydroxy-5,7-dimethoxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Uvaria hamiltonii. A methoxyflavanone that is flavanone substituted by methoxy groups at positions 5, 7 and 4' and a hydroxy group at position 6. |
