| Description | Prupaside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as lignan glycosides. These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing a carbohydrate component glycosidically linked to a lignan moiety. They include 1-aryltetralin lactones. (2r,3r,4s,5r)-2-{[(2s,3r,4r)-2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-[(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]oxolan-3-yl]methoxy}oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Prunus padus. (2r,3r,4s,5r)-2-{[(2s,3r,4r)-2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-[(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]oxolan-3-yl]methoxy}oxane-3,4,5-triol was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18656936). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Prupaside. |
