Description5-(Acetyloxy)-1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)heptan-3-yl acetate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as linear diarylheptanoids. These are diarylheptanoids with an open heptane chain. The two aromatic rings are linked only by the heptane chain. 5-(acetyloxy)-7-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)heptan-3-yl acetate is found in Zingiber officinale. 5-(Acetyloxy)-1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)heptan-3-yl acetate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
