Description(2E,4E,6E,8E)-10-hydroxy-10-[(3E,5S)-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1-methyl-2,4-dioxopyrrolidin-3-ylidene]deca-2,4,6,8-tetraenoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as medium-chain fatty acids. These are fatty acids with an aliphatic tail that contains between 4 and 12 carbon atoms. (2e,4e,6e,8e)-10-hydroxy-10-[(3e,5s)-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1-methyl-2,4-dioxopyrrolidin-3-ylidene]deca-2,4,6,8-tetraenoic acid is found in Physarum polycephalum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2E,4E,6E,8E)-10-hydroxy-10-[(3E,5S)-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1-methyl-2,4-dioxopyrrolidin-3-ylidene]deca-2,4,6,8-tetraenoic acid.
