| Description | Salasol B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as agarofurans. These are organic compounds containing an agarofuran moiety( a three-ring system, with core fragment oxatricyclo[7.2.1.0^{1,6}]Dodec-2-ene). (1s,2r,4s,5r,6s,7s,9r,12r)-12-(acetyloxy)-6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-4-(benzoyloxy)-5-hydroxy-2,10,10-trimethyl-11-oxatricyclo[7.2.1.0¹,⁶]dodecan-7-yl benzoate is found in Salacia chinensis. (1s,2r,4s,5r,6s,7s,9r,12r)-12-(acetyloxy)-6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-4-(benzoyloxy)-5-hydroxy-2,10,10-trimethyl-11-oxatricyclo[7.2.1.0¹,⁶]dodecan-7-yl benzoate was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 12951446). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Salasol B. |
