Description | 4,15-Bis(acetyloxy)-14-hydroxy-2,14,17-trimethyl-3-oxo-11-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-10-oxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]Heptadecan-16-yl 2H-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxylate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydrolyzable tannins. These are tannins with a structure characterized by either of the following models. In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. 4,15-bis(acetyloxy)-14-hydroxy-2,14,17-trimethyl-3-oxo-11-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-10-oxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]heptadecan-16-yl 2h-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxylate is found in Picrasma javanica. 4,15-Bis(acetyloxy)-14-hydroxy-2,14,17-trimethyl-3-oxo-11-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-10-oxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]Heptadecan-16-yl 2H-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxylate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
