| Description | Castillicetin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavones. These are flavonoids with a structure based on the backbone of 2-phenylchromen-4-one (2-phenyl-1-benzopyran-4-one). 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-4-oxochromen-3-yl (2e)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Centella asiatica. 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-4-oxochromen-3-yl (2e)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 18404308). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Castillicetin. |
