Description4-(2,2,6-Trimethyl-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]Heptan-1-yl)but-3-en-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as o-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond. 4-(2,2,6-trimethyl-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]heptan-1-yl)but-3-en-2-one is found in Breynia fruticosa, Campanula medium, Epimedium sagittatum, Ligularia virgaurea, Scurrula atropurpurea, Staphylea bumalda and Veratrum album. 4-(2,2,6-Trimethyl-4-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]Heptan-1-yl)but-3-en-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
