Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. 8-hydroxy-6,9,10-trimethyl-4,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.5.0.0¹,¹³.0³,⁷]tetradeca-3(7),5-dien-2-one is found in Ligularia cyathiceps and Senecio smithii. 8-Hydroxy-6,9,10-trimethyl-4,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.5.0.0¹,¹³.0³,⁷]Tetradeca-3(7),5-dien-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
