DescriptionCryptofolione belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cinnamyl alcohols. These are aromatic alcohols containing a 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ol moiety. 6-[(1e,7e)-4,6-dihydroxy-8-phenylocta-1,7-dien-1-yl]-5,6-dihydropyran-2-one is found in Cryptocarya liebertiana, Cryptocarya moschata and Cryptocarya myrtifolia. 6-[(1e,7e)-4,6-dihydroxy-8-phenylocta-1,7-dien-1-yl]-5,6-dihydropyran-2-one was first documented in 2008 (PMID: 17440726). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Cryptofolione.
