Description5,17-Dihydroxy-14-[2-hydroxy-3-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)cyclopentyl]-2,6,6,11,15-pentamethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadec-1(10)-en-9-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. 7,10-dihydroxy-1-[2-hydroxy-3-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)cyclopentyl]-3a,6,6,9a,11a-pentamethyl-1h,2h,3h,5h,5ah,7h,8h,9h,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-4-one is found in Inonotus obliquus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5,17-dihydroxy-14-[2-hydroxy-3-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)cyclopentyl]-2,6,6,11,15-pentamethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadec-1(10)-en-9-one.
