Cholesterols and derivatives are compounds containing a 3-hydroxylated cholestane core. (1r,3as,3br,9ar,9bs,11r,11ar)-1-[(2r)-4-[(2s)-3,3-dimethyloxiran-2-yl]butan-2-yl]-9a,11a-dimethyl-7-oxo-1h,2h,3h,3ah,3bh,4h,5h,8h,9h,9bh,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-11-yl acetate is found in Dasystenella acanthina.
