DescriptionJavanicinoside G belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydrolyzable tannins. These are tannins with a structure characterized by either of the following models. In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. (1s,2s,4s,7r,9r,11s,13s,14r,15s,16s,17s)-4,15-dimethoxy-2,14,17-trimethyl-3-oxo-11-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-10-oxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0²,⁷.0¹³,¹⁷]heptadecan-16-yl 2h-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxylate is found in Picrasma javanica. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Javanicinoside G.
