Description1-({2,6-Dihydroxy-2-oxo-tetrahydro-2H-2λ⁵-furo[3,4-d][1,3,2]dioxaphosphol-4-yl}methyl)-4-hydroxy-1,2-dihydropyrimidin-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydroxypyrimidines. These are organic compounds containing a hydroxyl group attached to a pyrimidine ring. Pyrimidine is a 6-membered ring consisting of four carbon atoms and two nitrogen centers at the 1- and 3- ring positions. 1-({2,6-dihydroxy-2-oxo-tetrahydro-2λ⁵-furo[3,4-d][1,3,2]dioxaphosphol-4-yl}methyl)-4-hydroxypyrimidin-2-one is found in Cicer arietinum. 1-({2,6-Dihydroxy-2-oxo-tetrahydro-2H-2λ⁵-furo[3,4-d][1,3,2]dioxaphosphol-4-yl}methyl)-4-hydroxy-1,2-dihydropyrimidin-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
