Common Name(3s)-7-hydroxy-8-[(1r)-4-hydroxy-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-1-yl]-3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2h-naphthalen-1-one
DescriptionEMycin E, also known as erythroped or monomycin, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tetralins. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a tetralin moiety, which consists of a benzene fused to a cyclohexane. (3s)-7-hydroxy-8-[(1r)-4-hydroxy-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-1-yl]-3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2h-naphthalen-1-one is found in Streptomyces griseoincarnatus. (3s)-7-hydroxy-8-[(1r)-4-hydroxy-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-1-yl]-3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2h-naphthalen-1-one was first documented in 1999 (PMID: 10927402). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on EMycin E.
