These are psoralens containing a hydroxyl group attached at the C8 position of the psoralen group. 9-hydroxy-5-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}furo[3,2-g]chromen-7-one is found in Alocasia macrorrhizos. 9-Hydroxy-5-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-7H-furo[3,2-g]chromen-7-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
