DescriptionAmaropanin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as biphenyls and derivatives. These are organic compounds containing to benzene rings linked together by a C-C bond. (2r,3s,4s,5s,6s)-2-({4-ethenyl-8-oxo-3h,4h,4ah,5h,6h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-3-yl}oxy)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 3,3'-dihydroxy-[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-carboxylate is found in Gentiana pannonica and Gentiana purpurea. (2r,3s,4s,5s,6s)-2-({4-ethenyl-8-oxo-3h,4h,4ah,5h,6h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-3-yl}oxy)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 3,3'-dihydroxy-[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-carboxylate was first documented in 1984 (PMID: 17340340). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Amaropanin.
